When you venture into the CZ, you are taking on a great risk and responsibility. Yes, many VERY large towers have hit in the CZ. Many rare ores including Himi are mined there as well. With the advent of vehicles, it is possible for those looters who are on fast computers and connections to see you almost before you see them, to be honest, and you may very well be dead before they render on your screen.
If you have an underpowered system I do not recommend going into the CZ. However.. I will explain how I have saved myself countless Peds, and perhaps is one reason why at least last I checked, the radar in CZ were disabled, though who knows, maybe they are working again.

Well.. When you carry hundreds or thousands of peds of ore on you, what choice do you have, if you cannot fight then what else is there? I learned long ago to ALWAYS carry a rocket launcher or a grenade launcher powerful enough to take myself out in a couple of shots. Just aim at the ground as close to yourself as you can, and fire.
