Open Letter to the Traders and citizens of Entropia

As long as you export every resource that isn't nailed down from Arkadia and Rocktropia, these economies will not be able to grow. It has become so impossible to mount any kind of crafting effort due to the lack of availability of resources that are FROM these planets exclusively. It is ridiculous. The reason it would appear most people end up on Caly despite what planet they started on, is the simple fact that they have to follow the materials.

I URGE MindArk in their wisdom or lack thereof, to eliminate the bug that allows traders to log out on a mothership and thus not be able to be looted in space, and log back in at their destination. This defeats the purpose of piracy, and the risks of space flight. It is an expoit, but you may call it what you wish. This would help curb some of the malicious exporting all in the name of turning a ped. I mean seriously, raping entire planets economies all for the sake of making a ped or two. Yes, I have been a trader off and on. Yes, I see nothing wrong with trading. But I do not trade in this manner. I do not believe in bleeding a planet dry to the point where crafters cannot support what should be a growing population.

To all of the miners, hunters, crafters, I urge you to be tougher in negotiating with traders. If you simply give in to whatever price they offer, there is nothing but downward pressure on prices. I know most of you including myself need peds now, but it is a vicious cycle that will destroy our abilities to stay afloat in the long run. I've already been forced to take prices far below what is acceptable, and the traders are UNWILLING to negotiate upward in the slightest. This is bad business practice, and if you can't be flexible in trading so as to be fair, then I may have to compile a black list of traders who are unfair and offer what can only be construed as the lowest prices in entropia. And trust me, I do have a few names that need to go on such a list.

Sure, I might upset  few people, but I am long past upset myself. Every resource on every planet is shipped out to Calypso. I know why you are doing it. But the economies on these other planets are only a fraction of what they were a year ago. And it is pretty bad when there used to be pages of resources on the auction, but now, there are maybe three or four listings with prices inflated so bad a crafter can't take them seriously.

I will get off my soapbox now... Good luck to everyone... But in the meantime... Traders, I will be watching.

  1. Wow...blog rating...overall excellent...some dry areas but at least half ur technical posts are 7 or 8 out of 10 for insider usefulness...not just 'if u only read the VU notes' stuff but 'hey I've tried this and this a pattern u should watch for'. There are lots go uncovered topics but I think there is one u haven't covered I'd like to discuss with u...profitable ESP for low enders. But...I do have to comment...this post seems way out of character...r u suggesting MA should improve pirates chances of looting players? U had a blog sometime past railing on pirates in ur own defense...let the market be the market...RT and Arkadia r good in their own way...be patient...having Calypso and Arkadiao is like living in Jersey...New York sucks up business but without it Jersey wouldnt be as big as it is...u must be patient...u r being impatient in not waiting on Ark or RT to mature...they're brand new...buy CLDs...it'll make u much happier with bad returns! Keep em coming! I will friend u in game. It's always good to exchange theories.
